Amplify Weekly — Signals Worth Pausing For | Edition 9 | Friday May 29th, 2026

There is a particular kind of Friday that arrives differently than the others.

This is one of them...

Before you scroll — take the 30-second poll. Then one exhale. Let's go.

SIGNALS WORTH PAUSING FOR

Three signals for conscious founders this week.

✨ Inner Signal — The Ancient Instruction That Becomes a Strategy

We are one week away from the midpoint of 2026. Which means right now, before you add anything new, is exactly the right moment to return to the foundation.

A Mindvalley email landed in my inbox this week — Vishen Lakhiani's "How to Become Unf*ckwithable" masterclass — and something in it stopped me. Not because it was new. Because it was a reminder.

State 1 in Vishen's framework is Knowingness. The ancient Greek instruction carved into the Temple at Delphi: Know thyself. Not as a philosophical exercise — as a bedrock. A deep certainty about who you are, what you stand for, and what you bring to the world. Vishen describes a person in this state as having nothing to prove and nothing to show off — because they simply know.

He cites Michael Beckwith: "The universe doesn't give you what you want. It reflects back who you are."

For conscious founders navigating an AI landscape that amplifies everything you put into it — this isn't soft wisdom. It is the most strategic thing you can do right now. AI reflects back who you are. Feed it clarity and it returns clarity. Feed it confusion and it returns confident-sounding confusion.

I recently had Derek Rydall on the podcast — author of A Whole New Human — whose message about AI was simple and grounding: the antidote to fear of AI is knowing yourself.

What is one bedrock truth about who you are that no external change could touch?

🤖AI Signal — The Model That's Learning to Be Honest

Here's something that quietly erodes trust in AI — and most people don't name it directly.

We've all felt it. You ask something, the AI responds with total confidence, and later you realize it invented the answer entirely. Misinformation delivered confidently is still misinformation.

Which is why Anthropic's latest release — Claude Opus 4.8 — caught my attention. What's notable isn't the speed. It's the intentional focus on the model knowing what it doesn't know.

Vaibhav Sisinty of Staying Ahead in AI put it to the test this week. He fed Opus 4.8 a fake Stanford study and asked it to provide the author and journal for citation. Instead of inventing one, the model flagged it couldn't verify the study, refused to fabricate, then searched and surfaced the real adjacent research. That's the honesty claim working.

Quick note for those newer to AI — when we talk about "models," think of them as different versions of the same assistant. Claude is the AI; Opus 4.8 is its most advanced model.

You can switch models right inside your Claude interface — see image— and choosing intentionally matters.

I've been watching AI evolve since the early 1990s. The tools that last aren't always the most powerful. They're the ones people learn to trust.

How much of your hesitation around AI comes down to trust — and what would shift if that changed?

🦋 Mindfulness Signal — AI Was Grown From Us

Something significant happened at the Vatican this week that most people in the AI space walked right past.

Anthropic co-founder Chris Olah was invited to speak on the impact of AI on humanity. What he said wasn't a technical briefing. It was a philosophical one.

"AI systems are not engineered the way a bridge or an airplane is engineered. They are grown — on an enormous inheritance of human thought and speech."

"They are not the cold, calculating robots we were promised. They are made from us, from our words."

"The machinery that makes this possible is the work of math and science. But what character we choose — these are more clearly questions for the humanities, for religion, for philosophy, for society at large."

And then: "We need moral voices that the incentives cannot bend."

For conscious founders — that last line is a direct invitation. You are the moral voice. The co-founder of one of the world's most powerful AI labs just stood at the Vatican and said the character questions belong to people like you.

What do you want the AI you use to reflect about what you stand for?

Pause and notice: Showing up — imperfectly, consistently, with something real to say — is the signal. The clues, the collaborator, the community all follow from that.

Remember what you answered in that poll? This is what changes it.

This May's streamlining tool is Paste — infinite clipboard history, searchable, synced across all your devices. The quiet streamliner that runs in the background so nothing slips through.

Before we close — take one breath with me. Here's what I'm sitting with this week...

WHAT I'M PAUSING ON THIS WEEK

If by now you are using AI and building your business around at least one loyal AI tool, then you know — it takes hours to "train it." It's an art. And the messy part is you still find yourself repeating information. Session after session. Re-explaining your voice, your audience, your goals, your why.

Jonathan Mast calculated he spent over 50 hours last year doing exactly that. And I've had plenty of face-plant moments of my own — pulling the wrong document, rewriting context I swore I already gave it, watching a perfectly good session derail because the AI simply didn't remember.

So when Jonathan launched his AI Chief of Staff Challenge Training — three days, six hours, a 4-layer system built around Context, Memory, Voice, and Skills — I was in.

Jonathan named his Hank. (Very him.) I named mine Omni. (Of course I did.)

And now I can walk into a session, say "build Amplify Weekly" or "triage this pitch" — and get back something on-brand and ready to work with. No briefing. No wheel-spinning. No face-plants.

But here's where it got interesting. I asked Omni directly: what else can you do beyond sounding like my voice? The answer stopped me.

Omni can run my entire content pipeline end-to-end. It can search my Gmail, draft replies, manage my calendar. It has live connectors to Asana, Google Drive, Canva, Zoom, and Kit. It runs scheduled workflows automatically — set once, runs without me.

"The writing is just one output," it told me. "The real value is that I operate the whole machine."

I'm still sitting with that one. And if you've been in that re-explaining loop longer than you'd like — you're not behind. You're just ready for the next layer. Reply and let's talk.

If one signal from today stirred something — hit reply and tell me which one. I read every note.

One thing I'm un-optimizing this week: re-explaining myself to AI that should already know me.

P.S. Nine editions in, one Chief of Staff named Omni, and somehow I still forgot to just ask — want to sponsor the podcast? Midroll spot, real audience, real conversation. Reply and let's figure it out.
